Gold Group Consulting Services, LLC ("we", "our", or "us") operates the Bookmark Plus mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted password. We do not store your password in plain text.

Reading Data: We store the books you add to your library, your reading progress, and reading format preferences. This data is stored locally on your device.

AI Summary Requests: When you request a summary, we send your book title, author, and reading progress to our servers to generate the summary. We do not store the generated summaries on our servers.

Camera and Photos: If you use the barcode scanner or cover photo feature, we access your camera or photo library only to identify books. Images are processed and immediately discarded; they are not stored on our servers.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information solely to provide and improve the App's functionality:

• To authenticate your account and maintain your session
• To generate AI-powered reading summaries
• To identify books via barcode scanning or cover photos
• To import your reading list from Goodreads (only when you initiate it)

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Supabase for authentication and account management
• Anthropic (Claude) for AI-powered summary generation
• Google Books API for book search and metadata

These services receive only the minimum data necessary to perform their function. We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Data Storage and Security

Your reading library and progress are stored locally on your device. Account credentials are managed by Supabase with industry-standard encryption. We use secure HTTPS connections for all network communications.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Your account data is retained as long as you maintain an active account. You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen in the App. When you delete your account, your authentication data is permanently removed from our servers. Local data on your device can be removed by uninstalling the App.

6. Children's Privacy

Our App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected information from a child under 13, please contact us so we can promptly remove it.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent at any time by deleting your account

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date above. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
